6U T-Ball

6U T-Ball is designed to introduce young players to baseball in a fun, active, and supportive environment where learning and enjoyment come first.

At the T-Ball level, CMBA uses Baseball Canada’s Rally Cap Program — an introductory development program focused on helping players build confidence, develop basic baseball skills, and create positive first experiences with the game.

Players learn throwing, catching, hitting, running, teamwork, and sportsmanship through engaging drills, modified gameplay, and active participation throughout each session.

What Makes 6U Different?

  • Players hit from a batting tee
  • No score or standings are kept
  • Sessions focus on movement, fun, and skill development
  • All players participate equally throughout the session
  • Players rotate through multiple positions and activities
  • Coaches use age-appropriate teaching methods and games

How a Rally Cap Session Works

Most Rally Cap sessions involve three teams participating together at the same time.

While two teams play a modified game, the third team participates in skill-development stations focused on hitting, throwing, fielding, running, and baseball fundamentals. Teams rotate throughout the session to ensure players stay active and engaged.

Sessions conclude with fun team activities such as base races and team handshakes.

Gameplay Overview

  • Base paths are 45 feet
  • Players use a softer safety baseball
  • All hitters bat from a tee
  • No walks, strikeouts, or stealing
  • Players can advance bases only on batted balls
  • Every player bats each inning

The primary goal at 6U is helping players develop confidence, friendships, coordination, and a love for baseball.
