18U Midget
18U Midget represents the final stage of minor baseball before players transition into collegiate, junior, adult, or competitive amateur baseball.
At this level, athletes compete on full-sized baseball diamonds while continuing to develop advanced baseball skills, game strategy, leadership, and team systems in a highly competitive environment.
Games are played using:
- 90-foot base paths
- 60’6” pitching distance
- 7-inning games
- Lead-offs and base stealing
- Balk rules
- Dropped third strike rules
The speed, strategy, and overall competitiveness of the game increase significantly at the Midget level as players prepare for the next stages of baseball.
Tiered Division Structure
18U Midget is a fully tiered division where teams travel throughout the region to compete against other associations.
CMBA offers multiple levels of play to provide athletes with appropriate development and competitive opportunities based on skill level, commitment, and player goals.
College Prep & AAA Baseball
Players may try out for the College Prep or AAA teams, which provide a higher level of competition and advanced player development opportunities.
These teams compete against similarly tiered associations while focusing on:
- Advanced baseball development
- Higher-level competition
- Preparation for junior, collegiate, and adult baseball
- Team systems and situational baseball
- Leadership and player accountability
9-player baseball is played at these levels.
AA Division Baseball
Players not selected for College Prep or AAA teams will compete within the AA division.
The AA division continues to offer strong competition, player development, and team-focused baseball while competing against other associations throughout the season.
At the AA level, all players bat in rotation to encourage continued development opportunities and participation throughout the lineup.
